| Indeed, their allies are those whom Allah mentioned in His Book, saying: 'You will not find a people who believe in Allah and the Last Day having affection for those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, even if they were their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their kindred. Those are the ones whom He has inscribed faith in their hearts and supported them with a spirit from Him. And He will admit them to gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. متن خطبهٔ غدیر، بارها بصورت مستقل چاپ شده که همهٔ آنها طبق روایت کتاب «احتجاج» بوده است، ولی متن حاضر به سه روایت از امام باقر علیهالسلام و حذیفة بن یمان و زید بن ارقم است.
این متن پس از مقابله و تطبیق آن در مدارک نُه گانهاش، یعنی کتابهای «روضة الواعظین»، «الاحتجاج»، «العُدَد القویّة»، «الیقین»، «التحصین»، «الاقبال»، «الصراط المستقیم»، «نهج الایمان» و «نزهة الکرام» تنظیم و تلفیق و تنقیح شده است.

Glorious is He in His Domination, and He is great in His Foundations! His Knowledge encircles all beings without taking a move or having a dwelling; He subdues everything with His Power and reasoning. |
حَميداً لَمْيَزَلْ، مَحْمُوداً لا يَزالُ وَمَجيداً لا يَزُولُ، وَمُبْدِئاً وَمُعيداً وَكُلُّ اَمْرٍ إلَيْهِ يَعُودُ. بارِئُ الْمَسْمُوكاتِ وَداحِي الْمَدْحُوَّاتِ وَجَبَّارُ الْأَرَضينَ وَ السَّماواتِ، قُدُّوسٌ سُبُّوحٌ، رَبُّ الْمَلائِكَةِ وَالرُّوحِ، مُتَفَضِّلٌ عَلي جَميعِ مَنْ بَرَأَهُ | Ever-praiseworthy, eternally lauded, and forever glorious. The Originator and the Restorer, to whom all matters return. Creator of the heavens and Spreader of the earths, Compeller of the lands and skies. The Holy, the Exalted, Lord of the angels and the Spirit. Gracious to all He has created. |
مُتَطَوِّلٌ عَلي جَميعِ مَنْ اَنْشَأَهُ.يَلْحَظُ كُلَّ عَيْنٍ وَالْعُيُونُ لا تَراهُ. كَريمٌ حَليمٌ ذُو أَناةٍ، قَدْ وَسِعَ كُلَّ شَيْئٍ رَحْمَتُهُ وَمَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ بِنِعْمَتِهِ. | He is gracious to all He has brought into existence. He observes every eye while no eyes can see Him. Generous, forbearing, and patient, His mercy encompasses everything, and He bestows His blessings upon them. |
لا يَعْجَلُ بِانْتِقامِهِ، وَلا يُبادِرُ إلَيْهِمْ بِمَا اسْتَحَقُّوا مِنْ عَذابِهِ.قَدْ فَهِمَ السَّرائِرَ وَعَلِمَ الضَّمائِرَ، وَلَمْ تَخْفَ عَلَيْهِ الْمَكْنُوناتِ وَلاَ اشْتَبَهَتْ عَلَيْهِ الْخَفِيَّاتُ. | He does not hasten in His vengeance, nor does He rush to inflict upon them the punishment they deserve. He understands the secrets and knows the innermost thoughts; nothing hidden is concealed from Him, nor are the unseen matters confused for Him." |
لَهُ الْإِحاطَةُ بِكُلِّ شَيئٍ وَالْغَلَبَةُ عَلي كُلِّ شَيْئٍ وَالْقُوَّةُ في كُلِّ شَيْئٍ وَالْقُدْرَةُ عَلي كُلِّ شَيْئٍ، وَلَيْسَ مِثْلُهُ شَيْئٌ. وَهُوَ مُنْشِيءُ الشَيْئٍ حينَ لا شَيْئَ دائِمٌ حَيٌّ وَقائِمٌ بِالْقِسْطِ، لا إِلهَ إلاَّ هُوَ الْعَزيزُ الْحَكيمُ. | He encompasses everything, has dominance over everything, possesses strength in everything, and has power over everything. There is nothing like Him. He is the Creator of things when there was nothing. Eternal, living, and upholding justice. There is no deity but Him, the Mighty, the Wise. |
جَلَّ عَنْ اَنْ تُدْرِكَهُ الْأَبْصارُ وَهُوَ يُدْرِكُ الْأَبْصارَ وَهُوَ اللَّطيفُ الْخَبيرُ. لا يَلْحَقُ اَحَدٌ وَصْفَهُ مِنْ مُعايَنَةٍ، وَلا يَجِدُ اَحَدٌ كَيْفَ هُوَ مِنْ سِرٍّ وَعَلانِيَةٍ اِلاَّ بِما دَلَّ عَزَّوَجَلَّ عَلي نَفْسِهِ. | He is exalted beyond what sight can perceive, yet He perceives all sight. He is the Subtle, the All-Aware. No one can comprehend His description through direct observation, nor can anyone grasp His nature in secret or in public, except through what He, the Almighty and Glorious, has revealed about Himself. |
وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّهُ اللَّهُ الَّذي مَلَأَ الدَّهْرَ قُدْسُهُ، وَالَّذي يَغْشَي الْأَبَدَ نُورُهُ، وَالَّذي يُنْفِذُ اَمْرَهُ بِلا مُشاوَرَةِ مُشيرٍ وَلا مَعَهُ شَريكٌ في تَقْديرِهِ وَلا يُعاوَنُ في تَدْبيرِهِ. | I bear witness that He is Allah, whose sanctity fills eternity, whose light envelops perpetuity, who executes His command without consulting any advisor, and who has no partner in His decree, nor does He need assistance in His governance. |
صَوَّرَ مَا ابْتَدَعَ عَلي غَيْرِ مِثالٍ، وَخَلَقَ ما خَلَقَ بِلا مَعُونَةٍ مِنْ اَحَدٍ وَلا تَكَلُّفٍ وَلاَ احْتِيالٍ. اَنْشَأَها فَكانَتْ وَبَرَأَها فَبانَتْ. فَهُوَ اللَّهُ الَّذي لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ هُوَ الْمُتْقِنُ الصَّنْعَةَ، الْحَسَنُ الصَّنيعَةُ | He fashioned what He originated without any model, and created what He created without assistance from anyone, without effort or contrivance. He brought them into being, and they existed; He formed them, and they appeared. Thus, He is Allah, there is no deity but Him, the One who perfects creation, whose craftsmanship is excellent. |
الْعَدْلُ الَّذي لايَجُورُ، وَالْأَكْرَمُ الَّذي تَرْجِعُ اِلَيْهِ الْاُمُورُ. وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّهُ اللَّهُ الَّذي تَواضَعَ كُلُّ شَيْئٍ لِعَظَمَتِهِ، وَذَلَّ كُلُّ شَيْئٍ لِعِزَّتِهِ | He is the Just, who never wrongs, and the Most Generous, to whom all matters return. I bear witness that He is Allah, before whose greatness everything humbles itself, and before whose might everything submits. |
وَاسْتَسْلَمَ كُلُّ شَيْئٍ لِقُدْرَتِهِ، وَخَضَعَ كُلُّ شَيْئٍ لِهَيْبَتِهِ. مَلِكُ الْأَمْلاكِ وَمُفَلِّكُ الْأَفْلاكِ وَمُسَخِّرُ الشَّمْسِ وَالْقَمَرِ، كُلٌّ يَجْري لِأَجَلٍ مُسَمّي. | Everything surrenders to His power, and everything submits to His awe. He is the King of kings, the regulator of the celestial spheres, and the subjugator of the sun and the moon, each running its course for an appointed term. |
يُكَوِّرُ اللَّيْلَ عَلَي النَّهارِ وَيُكَوِّرُ النَّهارَ عَلي اللَّيْلِ يَطْلُبُهُ حَثيثاً. قاصِمُ كُلِّ جَبَّارٍ عَنيدٍ وَمُهْلِكُ كُلِّ شَيْطانٍ مَريدٍ.
لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ ضِدٌّ وَلا مَعَهُ نِدٌّ اَحَدٌ صَمَدٌ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفْواً اَحَدٌ. |
He wraps the night over the day and wraps the day over the night, each pursuing the other in rapid succession. He is the destroyer of every stubborn tyrant and the annihilator of every rebellious devil. He has no opposite, nor is there any equal with Him. He is One, Self-Sufficient, He begets not, nor is He begotten, and there is none comparable to Him. |
اِلهٌ واحِدٌ وَرَبُّ ماجِدٌ يَشاءُ فَيَمْضي، وَيُريدُ فَيَقْضي، وَيَعْلَمُ فَيُحْصي، وَيُميتُ وَيُحْيي، وَيُفْقِرُ وَيُغْني، وَيُضْحِكُ وَيُبْكي، وَيُدْني وَيُقْصي وَيَمْنَعُ وَيُعْطي، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ وَهُوَ عَلي كُلِّ شَيْئٍ قَديرٍ. | He is one God and a glorious Lord. He wills and it comes to pass; He intends and it is fulfilled. He knows and thus enumerates all things. He gives life and causes death, impoverishes and enriches, brings laughter and tears, brings near and sends away, withholds and grants. To Him belongs sovereignty and all praise. In His hand is all good, and He has power over everything.

يُولِجُ اللَّيْلَ فِي النَّهارِ وَيُولِجُ النَّهارَ فِي اللَّيْلِ، لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ هُوَ الْعَزيزُ الْغَفّارُ. مُسْتَجيبُ الدُّعاءِ وَمُجْزِلُ الْعَطاءِ، مُحْصِي الْأَنْفاسِ وَرَبُّ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ،الَّذي لا يُشْكِلُ عَلَيْهِ شَيْئٌ، وَلا يَضْجُرُهُ صُراخُ الْمُسْتَصْرِخينَ وَلا يُبْرِمُهُ اِلْحاحُ الْمُلِحّينَ. | He merges the night into the day and merges the day into the night. There is no deity but Him, the Mighty, the Forgiving. He is the responder to prayers and the generous giver, who counts every breath and is the Lord of jinn and humans. Nothing confuses Him, nor does the clamor of those who cry out distress Him, nor does the persistence of those who persist weary Him.

الْعاصِمُ لِلصَّالِحينَ، وَالْمُوَفِّقُ لِلْمُفْلِحينَ، وَمَوْلَي الْمُؤْمِنينَ وَرَبُّ الْعالَمينَ. الَّذي اسْتَحَقَّ مِنْ كُلِّ مَنْ خَلَقَ اَنْ يَشْكُرَهُ وَيَحْمَدَهُ عَلي كُلِّ حالٍ. | He is the protector of the righteous, the grantor of success to the prosperous, the guardian of the believers, and the Lord of all worlds. He is the one who deserves from all His creation to be thanked and praised in every circumstance. |
اَحْمَدُهُ كَثيراً وَاَشْكُرُهُ دائِماً عَلَي السَّراءِ وَالضَّراءِ وَالشِّدَّةِ وَالرَّخاءِ، وَاُومِنُ بِهِ وَبِمَلائِكَتِهِ وَكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ. اَسْمَعُ لِأَمْرِهِ وَاُطيعُ وَاُبادِرُ اِلي كُلِّ ما يَرْضاهُ وَاَسْتَسْلِمُ لِما قَضاهُ، رَغْبَةً في طاعَتِهِ وَخَوْفاً مِنْ عُقُوبَتِهِ، لِأَنَّهُ اللَّهُ الَّذي لا يُؤْمَنُ مَكْرُهُ وَلا يُخافُ جَوْرُهُ. | I praise Him abundantly and thank Him always in times of ease and hardship, in adversity and prosperity. I believe in Him, His angels, His books, and His messengers. I listen to His command and obey, hastening to do all that pleases Him and submitting to what He decrees, out of desire for His obedience and fear of His punishment. For He is Allah, whose plan cannot be evaded, nor is there fear of injustice from Him. |

وَأَقِرُّ لَهُ عَلي نَفْسي بِالْعُبُودِيَّةِ وَاَشْهَدُ لَهُ بِالرُّبُوبِيَّةِ، وَاُؤَدّي ما اَوْحي بِهِ اِليَّ حَذَراً مِنْ اَنْ لا اَفْعَلَ فَتَحِلَّ بي مِنْهُ قارِعَةٌ لا يَدْفَعُها عَنّي اَحَدٌ وَاِنْ عَظُمَتْ حيلَتُهُ وَصَفَتْ خُلَّتُهُ؛ لا اِلهَ اِلاَّ هُوَ. لِأنَّهُ قَدْ أعْلَمَني أَنّي اِنْ لَمْ اُبَلِّغْ ما اَنْزَلَ اِلَيَّ في حَقِّ عَلِيٍّ فَما بَلَّغْتُ رِسالَتَهُ، وَقَدْ ضَمِنَ لي تَبارَكَ وَتَعالي الْعِصْمَةَ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَهُوَ اللَّهُ الْكافِي الْكَريمُ. | I acknowledge my servitude to Him and bear witness to His lordship. I fulfill what has been revealed to me, fearing that if I do not, a calamity from Him may befall me that no one can avert, no matter how great their cunning or close their friendship. There is no deity but Him. For He has informed me that if I do not convey what has been revealed to me concerning Ali, then I have not conveyed His message. And He, the Blessed and Exalted, has guaranteed me protection from the people. He is Allah, the Sufficient, the Generous. |
فَاَوْحي اِلَيَّ: بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمانِ الرَّحيمِ، يا اَيُّهَا الرَّسُولُ بَلِّغْ ما اُنْزِلَ اِلَيْكَ مِنْ رَبِّكَ- في عَلِيٍّ يَعْني فِي الْخِلافَةِ لِعَلِيِّ بْنِ اَبيطالِبٍ- وَاِنْ لَمْ تَفْعَلْ فَما بَلَّغْتَ رِسالَتَهُ وَاللَّهُ يَعْصِمُكَ مِنَ النَّاسِ . | So He revealed to me: 'In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O Messenger, convey what has been revealed to you from your Lord—concerning Ali, meaning regarding the succession of Ali ibn Abi Talib—and if you do not, then you have not conveyed His message. And Allah will protect you from the people.' |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، ما قَصَّرْتُ في تَبْليغِ ما اَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَعالي اِلَيَّ، وَاَنَا اُبَيِّنُ لَكُمْ سَبَبَ هذِهِ الْآيَةِ: اِنَّ جَبْرَئيلَ هَبَطَ اِليَّ مِراراً ثَلاثاً يَأْمُرُني عَنِ السَّلامِ رَبِّي- وَهُوَ السَّلامُ- اَنْ اَقُومَ في هذَا الْمَشْهَدِ | O people, I have not failed to convey what Allah, the Exalted, has revealed to me. I will explain to you the reason for this verse: Indeed, Gabriel descended to me three times, commanding me from my Lord, who is Peace, to stand in this assembly. |
فَاُعْلِمَ كُلَّ اَبْيَضٍ وَاَسْوَدٍ: اَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ اَبيطالِبٍ اَخي وَوَصِيّي وَخَليفَتي عَلي اُمَّتي وَالْإِمامُ مِنْ بَعْدي، الَّذي مَحَلُّهُ مِنّي مَحَلُّ هارُونَ مِنْ مُوسي اِلاَّ اَنَّهُ لا نَبِيَّ بَعْدي وَهُوَ وَلِيُّكُمْ بَعْدَ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ. | So let every white and black person know: Ali ibn Abi Talib is my brother, my executor, and my successor over my nation, and the Imam after me. His position to me is like that of Aaron to Moses, except that there is no prophet after me. He is your guardian after Allah and His Messenger. |
وَقَدْ اَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَبارَكَ وَتَعالي عَلَيَّ بِذلِكَ آيَةً مِنْ كِتابِهِ: اِنَّما وَلِيُّكُمُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَالَّذينَ آمَنُوا الَّذينَ يُقيمُونَ الصَّلاةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ الزَّكاةَ وَهُمْ راكِعُونَ ، وَعِليُّ بْنُ اَبيطالِبٍ الَّذي أقامَ الصَّلاةَ وَآتَي الزَّكاةَ وَهُوَ راكِعٌ يُريدُ اللَّهَ عَزَّوَجَلَّ في كُلِّ حالٍ. | And Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, has revealed to me a verse from His Book regarding this: 'Your only ally is Allah and His Messenger and those who believe, those who establish prayer and give zakat while they bow down.' Ali ibn Abi Talib is the one who established prayer and gave zakat while bowing, seeking Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, in every situation. |
وَسَأَلْتُ جَبْرَئيلَ اَنْ يَسْتَعْفِيَ لِيَ السَّلامَ عَنْ تَبْليغِ ذلِكَ اِلَيْكُمْ- اَيُّهَا النَّاسُ- لِعِلْمي بِقِلَّةِ الْمُتَّقينَ وَكَثْرَةِ الْمُنافِقينَ وَاِدْغالِ اللاَّئِمينَ وَحِيَلِ الْمُسْتَهْزِئينَ بِالْإِسْلامِ، الَّذينَ وَصَفَهُمُ اللَّهُ في كِتابِهِ بِأَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ بِأَلْسِنَتِهِمْ ما لَيْسَ في قُلُوبِهِمْ، وَيَحْسَبُونَهُ هَيِّناً وَهُوَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَظيمٌ، وَكَثْرَةِ اَذاهُمْ لي غَيْرَ مَرَّةٍ، | I asked Gabriel to excuse me from conveying this to you—O people—due to my knowledge of the scarcity of the pious and the abundance of hypocrites, the deceit of the blamers, and the tricks of those who mock Islam. Those whom Allah has described in His Book as saying with their tongues what is not in their hearts, and they consider it insignificant while it is great in the sight of Allah. And due to their frequent harm to me on multiple occasions. |
حَتّي سَمُّوني اُذُناً وَزَعَمُوا اَنّي كَذلِكَ لِكَثْرَةِ مُلازَمَتِهِ اِيَّايَ وَاِقْبالي عَلَيْهِ وَهَواهُ وَقَبُولِهِ مِنّي، حَتّي اَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّوَجَلَّ في ذلِكَ وَمِنْهُمُ الَّذينَ يُؤْذُونَ النَّبِيَّ وَيَقُولُونَ هُوَ اُذُنٌ، قُلْ اُذُنٌ- عَلَي الَّذينَ يَزْعَمُونَ اَنَّهُ اُذُنٌ- خَيْرٍ لَكُمْ، يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَيُؤْمِنُ لِلْمُؤْمِنينَ الآيَةُ. | They even called me 'ear' and claimed that I was such due to my constant association with him, my inclination towards him, and his acceptance of me. Until Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, revealed regarding this: 'And among them are those who hurt the Prophet and say, "He is an ear." Say, "An ear of good for you; he believes in Allah and believes the believers."' |
وَلَوْ شِئْتُ اَنْ اُسَمِّيَ الْقائِلينَ بِذلِكَ بِأَسْمائِهِمْ لَسَمَّيْتُ وَاَنْ اَوْمَئَ اِلَيْهِمْ بِأَعْيانِهِمْ لَأَوْمَأْتُ وَاَنْ اَدُلَّ عَلَيْهِمْ لَدَلَلْتُ، وَلكِنّي وَاللَّهِ في اُمُورِهِمْ قَدْ تَكَرَّمْتُ.
وَكُلُّ ذلِكَ لا يَرْضَي اللَّهُ مِنّي اِلاَّ اَنْ اُبَلِّغَ ما اَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ اِلَيَّ في حَقِّ عَلِيٍّ، ثم تلا: يا اَيُّهَا الرَّسُولُ بَلِّغْ ما اُنْزِلَ اِلَيْكَ مِنْ رَبِّكَ- في حَقِّ عَلِيٍّ- وَاِنْ لَمْ تَفْعَلْ فَما بَلَّغْتَ رِسالَتَهُ وَاللَّهُ يَعْصِمُكَ مِنَ النَّاسِ . |
And if I wished, I could name those who said this by their names, and if I wanted to point them out specifically, I could do so, and if I wanted to indicate them, I could indicate them. But by Allah, I have been gracious regarding their affairs. And all of this does not please Allah from me unless I convey what Allah has revealed to me concerning Ali. Then he recited: 'O Messenger, convey what has been revealed to you from your Lord—concerning Ali—and if you do not, then you have not conveyed His message. And Allah will protect you from the people.' |

فَاعْلَمُوا مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ ذلِكَ فيهِ وَافْهَمُوهُ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ نَصَبَهُ لَكُمْ وَلِيّاً وَاِماماً فَرَضَ طاعَتَهُ عَلَي الْمُهاجِرينَ وَالْأَنْصارِ وَعَلَي التَّابِعينَ لَهُمْ بِإِحْسانٍ، وَعَلَي الْبادي وَالْحاضِرِ، وَعَلَي الْعَجَمِيِّ وَالْعَرَبِيِّ، وَالْحُرِّ وَالْمَمْلُوكِ وَالصَّغيرِ وَالْكَبيرِ، وَعَلَي الْأَبْيَضِ وَالْأَسْوَدِ، وَعَلي كُلِّ مُوَحِّدٍ ماضٍ حُكْمُهُ، جازٍ قَوْلُهُ، نافِذٌ اَمْرُهُ | Know, O people, this about him and understand it. Know that Allah has appointed him as a guardian and Imam for you. He has made obedience to him obligatory upon the Emigrants and the Helpers, and upon those who follow them in goodness, and upon the Bedouin and the city-dweller, and upon the non-Arab and the Arab, and upon the free and the slave, and upon the young and the old, and upon the white and the black, and upon every monotheist. His rule is binding, his word is decisive, and his command is effective. |
مَلْعُونٌ مَنْ خالَفَهُ، مَرْحُومٌ مَنْ تَبِعَهُ وَصَدَّقَهُ، فَقَدْ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ وَلِمَنْ سَمِعَ مِنْهُ وَاَطاعَ لَهُ. | Cursed is the one who opposes him, and blessed is the one who follows him and believes in him. Indeed, Allah has forgiven him and those who hear from him and obey him. |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، اِنَّهُ آخِرُ مَقامٍ اَقُومُهُ في هذَا الْمَشْهَدِ، فَاسْمَعُوا وَاَطيعُوا وَانْقادُوا لِأَمْرِ اللَّهِ رَبِّكُمْ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّوَجَلَّ هُوَ مَوْلاكُمْ وَاِلهُكُمْ، ثُمَّ مِنْ دُونِهِ رَسُولُهُ وَنَبِيُّهُ الْمُخاطِبُ لَكُمْ، ثُمَّ مِنْ بَعْدي عَلِيٌّ وَلِيُّكُمْ وَاِمامُكُمْ بِأَمْرِ اللَّهِ رَبِّكُمْ، ثُمَّ الْإِمامَةُ في ذُرِّيَّتي مِنْ وُلْدِهِ اِلي يَوْمٍ تَلْقَوْنَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ. | O people, this is the last position I will take in this assembly. So listen and obey and submit to the command of Allah, your Lord. Indeed, Allah, the Exalted, is your protector and your deity. Then, after Him, His Messenger and Prophet who addresses you. Then after me, Ali is your guardian and Imam by the command of Allah, your Lord. Then the Imamate will be in my descendants from his children until the Day you meet Allah and His Messenger. |
لا حَلالَ اِلاَّ ما اَحَلَّهُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَهُمْ، وَلا حَرامٍ اِلاَّ ما حَرَّمَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَسُولُهُ وَهُمْ، وَاللَّهُ عَزَّوَجَلَّ عَرَّفَني الْحَلالَ وَالْحَرامَ وَاَنَا اَفْضَيْتُ بِما عَلَّمَني رَبّي مِنْ كِتابِهِ وَحَلالِهِ وَحَرامِهِ اِلَيْهِ. | There is no lawful except what Allah and His Messenger and they have made lawful, and there is no unlawful except what Allah has prohibited for you and His Messenger, and they. Indeed, Allah, the Exalted, has informed me of what is lawful and unlawful, and I have conveyed what my Lord has taught me from His Book regarding what is lawful and unlawful to him. |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، فَضِّلُوهُ. ما مِنْ عِلْمٍ اِلاَّ وَقَدْ اَحْصاهُ اللَّهُ فِيَّ، وَكُلُّ عِلْمٍ عُلِّمْتُ فَقَدْ اَحْصَيْتُهُ في اِمامِ الْمُتَّقينَ، وَما مِنْ عِلْمٍ اِلاَّ وَقَدْ عَلَّمْتُهُ عَلِيّاً، وَهُوَ الْإِمامُ الْمُبينُ الَّذي ذَكَرَهُ اللَّهُ في سُورَةِ يس: وكُلَّ شَئٍ اَحْصَيْناهُ في اِمامٍ مُبينٍ . | O people! Prefer [the superiority of] Ali to others, for there is no knowledge except that Allah has encompassed it in me, and every knowledge I have been taught, I have recorded it in the Imam of the righteous. There is no knowledge except that I have taught it to Ali, and he is the clear Imam mentioned by Allah in Surah Ya-Sin: 'And We have encompassed everything in a clear Imam.' |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، لا تَضِلُّوا عَنْهُ وَلا تَنْفِرُوا مِنْهُ، وَلا تَسْتَنْكِفُوا مِنْ وِلايَتِهِ، فَهُوَ الَّذي يَهْدي اِلَي الْحَقِّ وَيَعْمَلُ بِهِ، وَيُزْهِقُ الْباطِلَ وَيَنْهي عَنْهُ، وَلا تَأْخُذُهُ فِي اللَّهِ لَوْمَةُ لائِمٍ. | O people, do not stray from him and do not turn away from him, and do not recoil from his authority, for he is the one who guides to the truth and acts upon it, and he dispels falsehood and forbids it. And let not the blame of any blamer deter him in the cause of Allah. |
اَوَّلُ مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ لَمْ يَسْبِقْهُ اِلَي الْايمانِ بي اَحَدٌ، وَالَّذي فَدي رَسُولَاللَّهِ بِنَفْسِهِ، وَالَّذي كانَ مَعَ رَسُولِاللَّهِ وَلا اَحَدَ يَعْبُدُ اللَّهَ مَعَ رَسُولِهِ مِنَ الرِّجالِ غَيْرُهُ. اَوَّلُ النَّاسِ صَلاةً وَاَوَّلُ مَنْ عَبَدَ اللَّهَ مَعي. اَمَرْتُهُ عَنِ اللَّهِ اَنْ يَنامَ في مَضْجَعي، فَفَعَلَ فادِياً لي بِنَفْسِهِ. | The first to believe in Allah and His Messenger was Ali; no one preceded him in faith. He is the one who sacrificed himself for the Messenger of Allah, and he was with the Messenger of Allah when no one else worshiped Allah with him among the men. He was the first of the people to pray and the first to worship Allah with me. I commanded him, by Allah's order, to sleep in my bed, and he did so, sacrificing himself for me. |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، فَضِّلُوهُ فَقَدْ فَضَّلَهُ اللَّهُ، وَاقْبَلُوهُ فَقَدْ نَصَبَهُ اللَّهُ. | O people, honor him, for Allah has honored him, and accept him, for Allah has appointed him. |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، اِنَّهُ اِمامٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ، وَلَنْ يَتُوبَ اللَّهُ عَلي اَحَدٍ اَنْكَرَ وِلايَتَهُ وَلَنْ يَغْفِرَ لَهُ، حَتْماً عَلَي اللَّهِ اَنْ يَفْعَلَ ذلِكَ بِمَنْ خالَفَ اَمْرَهُ وَاَنْ يُعَذِّبَهُ عَذاباً نُكْراً اَبَدَ الْآبادِ وَدَهْرَ الدُّهُورِ. فَاحْذَرُوا اَنْ تُخالِفُوهُ، فَتَصْلُوا ناراً وَقُودُها النَّاسُ وَالْحِجارَةُ اُعِدَّتْ لِلْكافِرينَ. | O people, indeed he is an Imam from Allah, and Allah will not accept repentance from anyone who denies his authority, nor will He forgive them. It is certain that Allah will act in this way against those who oppose his command and will punish them with a severe torment for eternity. So beware of opposing him, lest you enter a fire whose fuel is people and stones, prepared for the disbelievers. |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، بي- وَاللَّهِ- بَشَّرَ الْأَوَّلُونَ مِنَ النَّبِيّينَ وَالْمُرْسَلينَ، وَاَنَا- وَاللَّهِ- خاتَمُ الْأَنْبِياءِ وَالْمُرْسَلينَ وَالْحُجَّةُ عَلي جَميعِ الْمَخْلُوقينَ مِنْ اَهْلِ السَّماواتِ وَالْأَرَضينَ. فَمَنْ شَكَّ في ذلِكَ فَقَدْ كَفَرَ كُفْرَ الْجاهِلِيَّةِ الْاُولي وَمَنْ شَكَّ في شَيْئٍ مِنْ قَوْلي هذا فَقَدْ شَكَّ في كُلِّ ما اُنْزِلَ اِلَيَّ، وَمَنْ شَكَّ في واحِدٍ مِنَ الْأَئِمَّةِ فَقَدْ شَكَّ فِي الْكُلِّ مِنْهُمْ، وَالشَّاكُ فينا فِي النَّارِ. | O people, by Allah, the earlier prophets and messengers have given glad tidings of me, and I—by Allah—am the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers and the proof against all of creation from the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth. Whoever doubts this has disbelieved with the disbelief of the first ignorance, and whoever doubts anything from my words has doubted everything that has been revealed to me. And whoever doubts one of the Imams has doubted all of them, and the doubter among us will be in the Fire. |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، حَبانِيَ اللَّهُ عَزَّوَجَلَّ بِهذِهِ الْفَضيلَةِ مَنّاً مِنْهُ عَلَيَّ وَاِحْساناً مِنْهُ اِلَيَّ وَلا اِلهَ اِلاَّ هُوَ، اَلا لَهُ الْحَمْدُ مِنّي اَبَدَ الآبِدينَ وَدَهْرَ الدَّاهِرينَ وَعَلي كُلِّ حالٍ. | O people, Allah, the Exalted, has bestowed upon me this virtue as a favor from Him and a kindness towards me, and there is no deity except Him. To Him belongs all praise from me for eternity and throughout all ages, in every situation. |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، فَضِّلُوا عَلِيّاً فَاِنَّهُ اَفْضَلُ النَّاسِ بَعْدي مِنْ ذَكَرٍ وَاُنْثي ما اَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ الرِّزْقَ وَبَقِيَ الْخَلْقُ.
مَلْعُونٌ مَلْعُونٌ، مَغْضُوبٌ مَغْضُوبٌ مَنْ رَدَّ عَلَيَّ قَوْلي هذا وَلَمْ يُوافِقْهُ. |
O people, prefer Ali, for he is the best of people after me, among both males and females, as long as Allah has decreed sustenance and creation remains. May one be damned! May one be buried in Wrath, in Divine Wrath: who refuses [listening to] my say, or agrees not with what I have just said. |
اَلا اِنَّ جَبْرَئيلَ خَبَّرَني عَنِ اللَّهِ تَعالي بِذلِكَ وَيَقُولُ: مَنْ عادي عَلِيّاً وَلَمْ يَتَوَلَّهُ فَعَلَيْهِ لَعْنَتي وَغَضَبي ، وَلْتَنْظُرْ نَفْسٌ ما قَدَّمَتْ لِغَدٍ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ- اَنْ تُخالِفُوهُ فَتَزِلَّ قَدَمٌ بَعْدَ ثُبُوتِها- اِنَّ اللَّهَ خَبيرٌ بِما يَعْمَلُونَ . | Indeed, Gabriel informed me from Allah, the Exalted, saying: 'Whoever opposes Ali and does not take him as a friend, upon him is My curse and My anger.' 'And let every soul look to what it has sent forth for tomorrow, and fear Allah—do not oppose him lest your foot slip after it has been firm—indeed, Allah is All-Aware of what they do.' |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، اِنَّهُ جَنْبُ اللَّهِ الَّذي ذَكَرَ في كِتابِهِ الْعَزيزِ، فَقالَ تَعالي مُخْبراً عَمَّنْ يُخالِفُهُ: اَنْ تَقُولَ نَفْسٌ يا حَسْرَتا عَلي ما فَرَّطْتُ في جَنْبِ اللَّهِ . | O people, indeed he is the side of Allah that is mentioned in His Glorious Book, where He, the Exalted, informs about those who oppose him: 'And let no soul say, "O my regret for what I neglected in regard to Allah."' |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، تَدَبَّرُوا القُرْآنَ وَافْهَمُوا آياتِهِ وَانْظُرُوا اِلي مُحْكَماتِهِ وَلا تَتَّبِعُوا مُتَشابِهَهُ، فَوَاللَّهِ لَنْ يُبَيِّنَ لَكُمْ زَواجِرَهُ وَلَنْ يُوضِحَ لَكُمْ تَفْسيرَهُ اِلاَّ الَّذي اَنَا آخِذٌ بِيَدِهِ وَمُصْعِدُهُ اِلَيَّ وَشائِلٌ بِعَضُدِهِ وَرافِعُهُ بِيَدَيَّ وَمُعْلِمُكُمْ: اَنَّ مَنْ كُنْتُ مَوْلاهُ فَهذا عَلِيٌّ مَوْلاهُ، وَهُوَ عَلِيٌّ بْنُ اَبيطالِبٍ اَخي وَوَصِيّي، وَمُوالاتُهُ مِنَ اللَّهِ عَزَّوَجَلَّ اَنْزَلَها عَلَيَّ. | O people, reflect on the Quran and understand its verses, and look to its clear statements and do not follow its ambiguous ones. By Allah, He will not clarify for you its prohibitions nor explain its interpretation except for that which I am taking by the hand and raising to me, and he who is supported by my side. And I inform you that whoever I am his master, this Ali is his master. And he is Ali ibn Abi Talib, my brother and my successor, and his allegiance is from Allah, the Exalted, which has been revealed to me. |

الا فَمَنْ كُنْتُ مَوْلاهُ فَهذا عَلِىٌّ مَوْلاهُ، اللّهُمَّ والِ مَنْ والاهُ وَ عادِ مَنْ عاداهُ وَ انْصُرْ مَنْ نَصَرَهُ وَ اخْذُلْ مَنْ خَذَلَهُ. | Ali was raised by the Messenger’s hands: 'O people, who is more worthy of you than yourselves?' They said: 'Allah and His Messenger. 'He said: 'So whoever I am his master, this Ali is his master. O Allah, befriend whoever befriends him, and be hostile to whoever is hostile to him, and support whoever supports him, and forsake whoever forsakes him.' |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، هذا عَلِيٌّ اَخي وَوَصِيّي وَواعي عِلْمي، وخَليفَتي في اُمَّتي عَلي مَنْ آمَنَ بي وَعَلي تَفْسيرِ كِتابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّوجَلَّ وَالدَّاعي اِلَيْهِ وَالْعامِلُ بِما يَرْضاهُ وَالْمُحارِبُ لِأَعْدائِهِ وَالْمُوالي عَلي طاعَتِهِ وَالنَّاهي عَنْ مَعْصِيَتِهِ. | O people, this is Ali, my brother, my successor, and the custodian of my knowledge. He is my successor among my community for those who believe in me and for the interpretation of the Book of Allah, the Exalted, and he is the one who calls to it and acts according to what pleases Him, who fights against His enemies, and who is obeyed in his commands and forbids disobedience. |
اِنَّهُ خَليفَةُ رَسُولِاللَّهِ وَاَميرُالْمُؤْمِنينَ وَالاِمامُ الْهادي مِنَ اللَّهِ، وَقاتِلُ النَّاكِثينَ وَالْقاسِطينَ وَالْمارِقينَ بِاَمْرِ اللَّهِ.
يَقُولُ اللَّهُ: ما يُبَدَّلُ الْقَوْلُ لَدَيَّ . بِاَمْرِكَ يا رَبِّ اَقُولُ: اَللَّهُمَّ والِ مَنْ والاهُ وَعادِ مَنْ عاداهُ وَاْنصُرْ مَنْ نَصَرَهُ وَاخْذُلْ مَنْ خَذَلَهُ وَالْعَنْ مَنْ اَنْكَرَهُ وَاغْضِبْ عَلي مَنْ جَحَدَ حَقَّهُ. |
Indeed, he is the successor of the Messenger of Allah, the Commander of the Faithful, and the divinely guided Imam. He is the fighter against the renegades, the oppressors, and the dissenters by the command of Allah. Allah says: 'The word will not be changed with Me.' By Your command, O Lord, I say: O Allah, befriend whoever befriends him, and be hostile to whoever is hostile to him, and support whoever supports him, and forsake whoever forsakes him, and curse whoever denies him, and be angry with whoever rejects his right. |
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنَّكَ اَنْزَلْتَ الْآيَةَ في عَلِيٍّ وَلِيِّكَ عِنْدَ تَبْيينِ ذلِكَ وَنَصْبِكَ اِيَّاهُ لِهذَا الْيَوْمِ: اَلْيَوْمَ اَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دينَكُمْ وَاَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُم نِعْمَتي وَرَضيتُ لَكُمُ الاِسْلامَ ديناً ، وَمَنْ يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ الاِسْلامِ ديناً فَلَنْ يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ فِي الآخِرَةِ مِنَ الْخاسِرينَ .
اَللَّهُمَّ اِنّي اُشْهِدُكَ اَنّي قَدْ بَلَّغْتُ. |
O Allah, indeed You revealed the verse regarding Ali, Your ally, at the time of declaring this and appointing him for this day: 'Today I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you, and I have chosen for you Islam as your religion.' 'And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers. 'O Allah, I bear witness that I have conveyed [Your message]. |

Whoever does not follow him and does not follow those who take his place among my descendants until the Day of Resurrection and the presentation before Allah, the Exalted, those are the ones whose deeds have been rendered void in this world and the Hereafter, and in the Fire, they will be eternally abiding. 'The punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be given respite.' |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، هذا عَلِيٌّ، اَنْصَرُكُمْ لي وَاَحَقُّكُمْ بي وَاَقْرَبُكُمْ اِلَيَّ وَاَعَزُّكُمْ عَلَيَّ، وَاللَّهُ عَزَّوَجَلَّ وَاَنَا عَنْهُ راضِيانِ. وَما نَزَلَتْ آيَةُ رِضا فِي الْقُرْآنِ إلاَّ فيهِ، وَلا خاطَبَ اللَّهُ الَّذينَ آمَنُوا إلاَّ بَدَأَ بِهِ، وَلا نَزَلَتْ آيَةُ مَدْحٍ فِي الْقُرآنِ إلاَّ فيهِ، وَلا شَهِدَ اللَّهُ بِالْجَنَّةِ في هَلْ اَتي عَلَي الْاِنْسانِ اِلاَّ لَهُ اَنْزَلَها في سِواهُ وَلا مَدَحَ بِها غَيْرَهُ. | O people, this is Ali, he is the one who supports you for me, he has the most right to me, he is closest to me, and he is the most honored among you in my sight, and Allah, the Exalted, and I are pleased with him. No verse of approval in the Quran was revealed except about him, and Allah only addresses those who believe by starting with him. No verse of praise in the Quran was revealed except about him, and Allah did not testify to anyone's entrance into Paradise in 'Has the time not come for mankind' except for him. It was revealed about no one else and no one else was praised by it. |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، هُوَ ناصِرُ دينِ اللَّهِ وَالْمُجادِلُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ، وَهُوَ التَّقِيُّ النَّقِيُّ الْهادِي الْمَهْدِيُّ. نَبِيُّكُمْ خَيْرُ نَبِيٍّ وَوَصِيُّكُمْ خَيْرُ وَصِيٍّ وَبَنُوهُ خَيْرُ الْأَوْصِياءِ. | O people, he is the supporter of the religion of Allah and the defender of the Messenger of Allah. He is the pious, pure, guided, and rightly guided one. Your Prophet is the best of prophets, and your successor is the best of successors, and his sons are the best of successors. |
معاشِرَ النَّاسِ، ذُرِّيَّةُ كُلُّ نَبِيٍّ مِنْ صُلْبِهِ، وَذُرِّيَّتي مِنْ صُلْبِ أميرِالْمُؤْمِنينَ عَلِيٍّ. مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، اِنَّ اِبْليسَ اَخْرَجَ آدَمَ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ بِالْحَسَدِ، فَلا تَحْسُدُوهُ فَتَحْبِطَ اَعْمالُكُمْ وَتَزِلَّ اَقْدامُكُمْ، فَاِنَّ آدَمَ اُهْبِطَ اِلَي الْأَرْضِ بِخَطيئَةٍ واحِدَةٍ، وَهُوَ صَفْوَةُ اللَّهِ عَزَّوَجَلَّ، وَكَيْفَ بِكُمْ وَاَنْتُمْ اَنْتُمْ وَمِنْكُمْ اَعْداءُ اللَّهِ. | O people, the descendants of every prophet are from his own loins, and my descendants are from the loins of the Commander of the Faithful, Ali.O people, indeed Satan expelled Adam from Paradise out of envy, so do not envy him lest your deeds be rendered void and your feet slip. For Adam was brought down to earth due to one sin, and he is the chosen one of Allah, the Exalted. How about you, when you are who you are and among you are the enemies of Allah? |
ألا وَاِنَّهُ لا يُبْغِضُ عَلِيّاً اِلاَّ شَقِيٌّ، وَلا يُوالي عَلِيّاً إلاَّ تَقِيٌّ، وَلا يُؤمِنُ بِهِ اِلاَّ مُؤمِنٌ مُخْلِصٌ. وَفي عَلِيٍّ- وَاللَّهِ- نَزَلَتْ سُورَةُ الْعَصْرِ: بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمانِ الرَّحيمِ، وَالْعَصْرِ، اِنَّ الْإِنْسانَ لَفي خُسْرٍ اِلاَّ عَلِيٌّ الَّذي آمَنَ وَرَضِيَ بِالْحَقِّ وَالصَّبْرِ. | Indeed, no one hates Ali except the wretched, and no one loves Ali except the pious, and no one believes in him except a sincere believer. And indeed, concerning Ali—by Allah—Surah Al-Asr was revealed: 'In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, by time, indeed mankind is in loss, except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience,' except for Ali who believed and was pleased with the truth and patience. |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، قَدْ اسْتَشْهَدْتُ اللَّهَ وَبَلَّغْتُكُمْ رِسالَتي وَما عَلَي الرَّسُولِ اِلاَّ الْبَلاغُ الْمُبينُ. مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، اِتَّقُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقاتِهِ وَلا تَمُوتُنَّ اِلاَّ وَاَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ . | O people, I have called Allah to witness and I have conveyed to you my message, and it is only upon the Messenger to deliver the clear message. O people, 'Fear Allah as He should be feared, and do not die except as Muslims.' |

مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، آمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَالنُّورِ الَّذي اُنْزِلَ مَعَهُ مِنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ نَطْمِسَ وُجُوهاً فَنَرُدَّها عَلي أدْبارِها اَوْ نَلْعَنُهُمْ كَما لَعَنَّا اَصْحابَ السَّبْتِ . باللَّهِ ما عَني بِهذِهِ الْآيَةِ اِلاَّ قَوْماً مِنْ اَصْحابي اَعْرِفُهُمْ بِأَسْمائِهِمْ وَاَنْسابِهِمْ، وَقَدْ اُمِرْتُ بِالصَّفْحِ عَنْهُمْ. فَلْيَعْمَلْ كُلُّ امْرِيءٍ عَلي ما يَجِدُ لِعَلِيٍّ في قَلْبِهِ مِنَ الْحُبِّ وَالْبُغْضِ. | O people, 'Believe in Allah and His Messenger and the light that has been sent down with him before We obliterate faces and turn them on their backs or curse them as We cursed the companions of the Sabbath.' By Allah, I am referring to a group among my companions whose names and lineage I know, and I have been commanded to pardon them. Let every person act according to what he finds in his heart regarding love and hatred for Ali. |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، النُّورُ مِنَ اللَّهِ عَزَّوَجَلَّ مَسْلُوكٌ فِيَّ ثُمَّ في عَليِّ بْنِ اَبيطالِبٍ، ثُمَّ فِي النَّسْلِ مِنْهُ اِلَي الْقائِمِ الْمَهْدِيِّ الَّذي يَأْخُذُ بِحَقِّ اللَّهِ وَبِكُلِّ حَقٍّ هُوَ لَنا، لِأَنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّوَجَلَّ قَدْ جَعَلَنا حُجَّةً عَلَي الْمُقَصِّرينَ والْمُعانِدينَ وَالْمُخالِفينَ وَالْخائِنينَ وَالْآثِمينَ وَالظَّالِمينَ وَالْغاصِبينَ مِنْ جَميعِ الْعالَمينَ. | O people, the light from Allah, the Exalted, is manifested in me, then in Ali ibn Abi Talib, and then in his descendants until the Mahdi, who will uphold the rights of Allah and every right that belongs to us. For Allah, the Exalted, has made us a proof against those who fall short, oppose, contradict, betray, sin, oppress, and usurp from all of creation. |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، اُنْذِرُكُمْ اَنّي رَسُولُاللَّهِ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِيَ الرُّسُلُ، أَفَإِنْ مِتُّ اَوْ قُتِلْتُ انْقَلَبْتُمْ عَلي أَعْقابِكُمْ؟ وَمَنْ يَنْقَلِبْ عَلي عَقِبَيْهِ فَلَنْ يَضُرَّ اللَّهَ شَيْئاً وَسَيَجْزِي اللَّهُ الشَّاكِرينَ الصَّابِرينَ. | O people, I warn you that I am the Messenger of Allah, and before me, messengers have passed away. So if I die or am killed, will you turn back on your heels? And whoever turns back on his heels will not harm Allah in anything, and Allah will reward the grateful and the patient. |
ألا وَاِنَّ عَلِيّاً هُوَ الْمَوْصُوفُ بِالصَّبْرِ وَالشُّكْرِ، ثُمَّ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ وُلْدي مِنْ صُلْبِهِ. | Indeed, Ali is the one described with patience and gratitude, and after him, my descendants from his loins. |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، لا تَمُنُّوا عَلَيَّ بِإِسْلامِكُمْ، بَلْ لا تَمُنُّوا عَلَي اللَّهِ فَيُحْبِطَ عَمَلَكُمْ وَيَسْخَطَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَيَبْتَلِيَكُمْ بِشُواظٍ مِنْ نارٍ وَنُحاسٍ، اِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَبِالْمِرْصادِ. مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، اِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ مِنْ بَعْدي اَئِمَّةٌ يَدْعُونَ اِلَي النَّارِ وَيَوْمَ الْقِيامَةِ لا يُنْصَرُونَ. | O people, do not boast to me about your Islam; rather, do not boast to Allah, lest He nullify your deeds and become angry with you and test you with a blaze of fire and copper. Indeed, your Lord is in wait. O people, there will be after me leaders who will call to the Fire, and on the Day of Resurrection, they will not be helped. |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، اِنَّ اللَّهَ وَاَنَا بَريئانِ مِنْهُمْ. مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، اِنَّهُمْ وَاَنْصارَهُمْ وَاَتْباعَهُمْ وَاَشْياعَهُمْ فِي الدَّرْكِ الْأَسْفَلِ مِنَ النَّارِ وَلَبِئْسَ مَثْوَي الْمُتَكَبِّرينَ. ألا اِنَّهُمْ اَصْحابُ الصَّحيفَةِ، فَلْيَنْظُرْ اَحَدُكُمْ في صَحيفَتِهِ! قال: فذهب علي الناس- إلا شرذمة منهم- أمر الصحيفة. | O people! Know that both God and I detest such crowd. O people! O people, indeed, they, their supporters, their followers, and their partisans are in the lowest depths of the Fire, and how evil is the abode of the arrogant. Indeed, they are the people of the document; let each of you look at his own document! |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، اِنّي اَدَعُها اِمامَةً وَوِراثَةً في عَقِبي اِلي يَوْمِ الْقِيامَةِ، وَقَدْ بَلَّغْتُ ما اُمِرْتُ بِتَبْليغِهِ حُجَّةً عَلي كُلِّ حاضِرٍ وَغائِبٍ وَعَلي كُلِّ اَحَدٍ مِمَّنْ شَهِدَ أَوْ لَمْ يَشْهَدْ، وُلِدَ أَوْ لَمْ يُولَدْ، فَلْيُبَلِّغِ الْحاضِرُ الْغائِبَ وَالْوالِدُ الْوَلَدَ اِلي يَوْمِ الْقِيامَةِ. وَسَيَجْعَلُونَ الاِمامَةَ بَعْدي مُلْكاً وَاغْتِصاباً، ألا لَعَنَ اللَّهُ الْغاصِبينَ الْمُغْتَصِبينَ، وَعِنْدَها سَيَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ اَيُّهَا الثَّقَلانِ مَنْ يَفْرُغُ، وَيُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُما شُواظٌ مِنْ نارٍ وَنُحاسٌ فَلا تَنْتَصِرانِ. | O people, I leave the Imamate and inheritance in my lineage until the Day of Resurrection, and I have conveyed what I was commanded to convey as a proof against every present and absent person, and against everyone who was born or has not yet been born. Let the present convey to the absent, and the parent to the child until the Day of Resurrection. They will make the Imamate after me a matter of kingship and usurpation. May Allah curse the usurpers! And at that time, a blaze of fire and copper will be sent upon you, and you will not be able to defend yourselves. |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، اِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّوَجَلَّ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيَذَرَكُمْ عَلي ما اَنْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ حَتّي يَميزَ الْخَبيثَ مِنَ الطَّيِّبِ، وَما كانَ اللَّهُ لِيُطْلِعَكُمْ عَلَي الْغَيْبِ. | O people, indeed Allah, the Exalted, would not leave you as you are until He distinguishes the wicked from the good, and Allah would not inform you of the unseen. |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، اِنَّهُ ما مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ اِلاَّ وَاللَّهُ مُهْلِكُها بِتَكْذيبِها قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْقِيامَةِ وَمُمَلِّكُهَا الْإمامَ الْمَهْدِيَّ وَاللَّهُ مُصَدِّقٌ وَعْدَهُ. | O people, there is no village except that Allah will destroy it for its denial before the Day of Resurrection and will give it to the Imam Al-Mahdi. And Allah is true to His promise. |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، قَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَكُمْ اَكْثَرُ الْأَوَّلينَ، وَاللَّهُ لَقَدْ اَهْلَكَ الْأَوَّلينَ، وَهُوَ مُهْلِكُ الْآخِرينَ. قالَ اللَّهُ تَعالي: اَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ الْأَوَّلينَ، ثُمّنُتْبِعُهُمُ الْآخِرينَ، كَذلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِمينَ، وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبينَ . | O people, indeed most of the earlier generations went astray before you, and Allah has certainly destroyed the earlier ones, and He will destroy the later ones. Allah, the Exalted, said: 'Did We not destroy the earlier ones, then follow them up with the later ones? Thus do We deal with the criminals. Woe on that Day to the deniers.' |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، اِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ اَمَرَني وَ نَهاني، وَ قَدْ اَمَرْتُ عَلِيّاً وَ نَهَيْتُهُ بِأَمْرِهِ. فَعِلْمُ الْأَمْرِ وَ النَّهْيِ لَدَيْهِ، فَاسْمَعُوا لِأَمْرِهِ تَسْلِمُوا وَاَطيعُوهُ تَهْتَدُوا وَانْتَهُوا لِنَهْيِهِ تُرْشِدُوا، وَصيرُوا اِلي مُرادِهِ وَلا تَتَفَرَّقُ بِكُمُ السُّبُلُ عَنْ سَبيلِهِ. | O people, indeed Allah has commanded me and prohibited me, and I have commanded Ali and prohibited him by His command. The knowledge of what is commanded and prohibited is with him, so listen to his commands to attain safety, and obey him to be guided, and refrain from his prohibitions to be rightly guided. Follow his desires and do not let the paths diverge from his path. |

Then Ali is after me, and my descendants from his loins are the Imams of guidance, guiding to the truth and acting justly. |
ثم قرأ: بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحيمِ، الْحَمْدُ للَّهِ رَبِّ الْعالَمينَ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ اهدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ المُستَقِيمَ صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنعَمتَ عَلَيهِمْ غَيرِ المَغضُوبِ عَلَيهِمْ وَلاَ الضَّالِّينَ | Then he recited: 'In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Master of the Day of Judgment. You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help. Guide us on the Straight Path, the path of those who have received Your grace; not the path of those who have brought down wrath upon themselves, nor of those who have gone astray.' |
وقال: فِيَّ نَزَلَتْ وَفيهِمْ وَاللَّهِ نَزَلَتْ، وَلَهُمْ عَمَّتْ وَاِيَّاهُمْ خَصَّتْ، اُولئِكَ اَوْلِياءُ اللَّهِ الَّذينَ لا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ، اَلا اِنَّ حِزْبَ اللَّهِ هُمُ الْغالِبُونَ. | And he said: 'It was revealed about me and about them, and by Allah, it was revealed; and it has encompassed them, and it has specifically addressed them. Those are the allies of Allah, for whom there is no fear, nor shall they grieve. Indeed, the party of Allah—they are the victorious.' |
اَلا اِنَّ أعْدائَهُمْ هُمُ السُّفَهاءُ الْغاوُونَ اِخْوانُ الشَّياطينِ يُوحي بَعْضُهُمْ اِلي بَعْضٍ زُخْرُفَ الْقَوْلِ غُرُوراً. | Indeed, their enemies are the foolish, the misguided, the brothers of the devils. They inspire one another with embellished speech as a deception. |
أَلا اِنَّ أوْلِيائَهُمُ الَّذينَ ذَكَرَهُمُ اللَّهُ في كِتابِهِ، فَقالَ عَزَّوَجَلَّ: لا تَجِدُ قَوْماً يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَومِ الْآخِرِ يُوادُّونَ مَنْ حادَّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَلَوْ كانُوا آبائَهُمْ اَوْ اَبْنائَهُمْ اَوْ اِخْوانَهُمْ اَوْ عَشيرَتَهُمْ، اُولئِكَ كَتَبَ في قُلُوبِهِمُ الْايمانَ وَ أَيَّدَهُمْ بِرُوح مِنْهُ وَ يُدْخِلُهُمْ جَنّات تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهارُ خالِدِينَ فِيها رَضِيَ اللّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَ رَضُوا عَنْهُ أُولئِكَ حِزْبُ اللّهِ أَلا إِنَّ حِزْبَ اللّهِ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ | Indeed, their allies are those whom Allah mentioned in His Book, saying: 'You will not find a people who believe in Allah and the Last Day having affection for those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, even if they were their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their kindred. Those are the ones whom He has inscribed faith in their hearts and supported them with a spirit from Him. And He will admit them to gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. Those are the party of Allah; indeed, the party of Allah—they are the successful.' |
أَلا اِنَّ اَوْلِيائَهُمُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الَّذينَ وَصَفَهُمُ اللَّهُ عَزَّوَجَلَّ فَقالَ: الَّذينَ آمَنُوا وَلَمْ يَلْبَسُوا ايمانَهُمْ بِظُلْمٍ اُولئِكَ لَهُمُ الْأَمْنُ وَهُمْ مُهْتَدُونَ . | Indeed, their allies are the believers whom Allah, the Exalted, has described, saying: 'Those who have believed and not mixed their faith with injustice—those are the ones for whom there is security, and they are the rightly guided.' |
أَلا اِنَّ اَوْلِيائَهُمُ الَّذينَ آمَنُوا وَلَمْ يَرْتابُوا. اَلا اِنَّ اَوْلِيائَهُمُ الَّذينَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ بِسَلامٍ آمِنينَ، تَتَلَقَّاهُمُ الْمَلائِكَةُ بِالتَّسْليمِ يَقُولُونَ: سَلامٌ عَلَيْكُمْ طِبْتُمْ فَادْخُلُوها خالِدينَ. اَلا اِنَّ اَوْلِيائَهُمْ، لَهُمُ الْجَنَّةُ يُرْزَقُونَ فيها بِغَيْرِ حِسابٍ. | Indeed, their allies are those who have believed and have not doubted. Indeed, their allies are those who will enter Paradise in peace and security, and the angels will greet them with peace, saying: 'Peace be upon you; you have done well. Enter it, abiding eternally.' Indeed, their allies will have Paradise, where they will be provided for without account." |
اَلا اِنَّ اَعْدائَهُمُ الَّذينَ يَصْلَوْنَ سَعيراً. أَلا اِنَّ اَعْدائَهُمُ الَّذينَ يَسْمَعُونَ لِجَهَنَّمَ شَهيقاً وَهِيَ تَفُورُ وَيَرَوْنَ لَها زَفيراً. | Indeed, their enemies are those who will burn in a blazing fire. Indeed, their enemies are those who will hear Hell gasping as it boils over, and they will see it roaring. |
اَلا اِنَّ اَعْدائَهُمُ الَّذينَ قالَ اللَّهُ فيهِمْ: كُلَّما دَخَلَتْ اُمَّةٌ لَعَنَتْ اُخْتَها حَتَّي إِذَا ادَّارَكُوا فيها جَميعاً قالَتْ أُخْراهُمْ لِأُولاهُمْ رَبَّنا هؤُلاءِ أَضَلُّونا فَآتِهِمْ عَذاباً ضِعْفاً مِنَ النَّارِ قالَ لِكُلٍّ ضِعْفٌ وَ لكِنْ لا تَعْلَمُونَ | Indeed, their enemies are those about whom Allah said: 'Whenever a nation enters [Hell], it curses its sister nation, until when they have all followed one another therein, the last of them will say to the first of them, "Our Lord, these have led us astray, so give them a double punishment from the Fire." He will say, 'For each is a double [punishment], but you do not know.' |
أَلا اِنَّ أَعْدائَهُمُ الَّذينَ قالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّوَجَلَّ: كُلَّما اُلْقِيَ فيها فَوْجٌ سَاَلَهُمْ خَزَنَتُها اَلَمْ يَاْتِكُمْ نَذيرٌ، قالُوا بَلي قَدْ جاءَنا نَذيرٌ فَكَذَّبْنا وَقُلْنا ما نَزَّلَ اللَّهُ مِنْ شَيءٍ، اِنْ اَنْتُمْ اِلاَّ في ضَلالٍ كَبيرٍ إلي قوله: اَلا فَسُحْقاً لِأَصْحابِ السَّعيرِ . اَلا اِنَّ اَوْلِيائَهُمُ الَّذينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ بِالْغَيْبِ، لَهُمْ مَغْفِرَةٌ وَاَجْرٌ كَبيرٌ. | Indeed, their enemies are those whom Allah, the Exalted, said about: 'Whenever a group is thrown into [Hell], its keepers will ask them, "Did not a warner come to you?" They will say, "Yes, indeed a warner came to us, but we denied and said, 'Allah has not revealed anything; you are only in great error.'" Until His statement: 'So be gone to the companions of the blazing fire.' Indeed, their allies are those who fear their Lord in secret; for them is forgiveness and a great reward." |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، شَتَّانَ ما بَيْنَ السَّعيرِ وَالْأَجْرِ الْكَبيرِ. مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، عَدُوُّنا مَنْ ذَمَّهُ اللَّهُ وَلَعَنَهُ، وَوَلِيُّنا كُلُّ مَنْ مَدَحَهُ اللَّهُ وَاَحَبَّهُ. مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، اَلا واِنّي النَّذيرُ وَعَلِيٌّ الْبَشيرُ. مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، أَلا واِنّي مُنْذِرٌ وَعَلِيٌّ هادٍ. مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، اِنّي نَبِيٌّ وَعلِيٌّ وَصِيّي. | O people, how different is the blazing fire from the great reward! O people, our enemy is the one whom Allah has condemned and cursed, and our ally is everyone whom Allah has praised and loved. O people, indeed I am the warner and Ali is the bearer of good tidings. O people, indeed I am the one who warns, and Ali is the guide. O people, indeed I am a Prophet, and Ali is my successor." |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، اَلا وَاِنّي رَسُولٌ وَعِليٌّ الْإِمامُ وَالْوَصِيُّ مِنْ بَعْدي، وَالْأَئِمَّةُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ وُلْدُهُ. اَلا وَاِنّي والِدُهُمْ وَهُمْ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنْ صُلْبِهِ. | O people, indeed I am a Messenger, and Ali is the Imam and the successor after me, and the Imams after him are his children.

Indeed, he is the one who will prevail over the religion. Indeed, he is the avenger against the oppressors. Indeed, he is the conqueror of fortresses and their destroyer. Indeed, he will dominate every tribe of polytheists and guide them. Indeed, he will be the one who avenges every blood of the allies of Allah. Indeed, he is the supporter of the religion of Allah." |
اَلا اِنَّهُ الْغَرَّافُ مِنْ بَحْرٍ عَميقٍ. اَلا اِنَّهُ يَسِمُ كُلَّ ذي فَضْلٍ بِفَضْلِهِ وَكُلَّ ذي جَهْلٍ بِجَهْلِهِ. اَلا اِنَّهُ خِيَرَةُ اللَّهِ وَمُخْتارُهُ. اَلا اِنَّهُ وارِثُ كُلِّ عِلْمٍ وَالْمُحيطُ بِكُلِّ فَهْمٍ. | Indeed, he is the one who draws from a deep ocean. Indeed, he marks every person of virtue with his virtue and every person of ignorance with his ignorance. Indeed, he is the chosen one of Allah and His selected one. Indeed, he is the inheritor of all knowledge and the one who encompasses all understanding. |
اَلا اِنَّهُ الْمُخْبِرُ عَنْ رَبِّهِ عَزَّوَجَلَّ وَالْمُشَيِّدُ لِأَمْرِ آياتِهِ. اَلا اِنَّهُ الرَّشيدُ السَّديدُ. اَلا اِنَّهُ الْمُفَوَّضُ اِلَيْهِ. اَلا اِنَّهُ قَدْ بَشَّرَ بِهِ مَنْ سَلَفَ مِنَ الْقُرُونِ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ.
اَلا اِنَّهُ الْباقي حُجَّةً وَلا حُجَّةَ بَعْدَهُ وَلا حَقَّ اِلاَّ مَعَهُ وَلا نُورَ اِلاَّ عِنْدَهُ. اَلا اِنَّهُ لا غالِبَ لَهُ وَلا مَنْصُورَ عَلَيْهِ. اَلا وَاِنَّهُ وَلِيُّ اللَّهِ في اَرْضِهِ، وَحَكَمُهُ في خَلْقِهِ، وَاَمينُهُ في سِرِّهِ وَعَلانِيَتِهِ. |
Indeed, he is the one who informs about his Lord, the Exalted, and establishes the affairs of His signs. Indeed, he is the rightly guided and correct one. Indeed, he is the one to whom authority has been entrusted. Indeed, he has been foretold by those who preceded him from past generations. Indeed, he is the lasting proof; there is no proof after him, no truth except with him, and no light except in his presence. Indeed, there is no one who can overpower him, nor anyone who can assist against him. Indeed, he is the ally of Allah on His earth, His judge among His creation, and His trustworthy one in both secret and public. |

اَلا وَاِنّي قَدْ بايَعْتُ اللَّهَ وَعَلِيٌّ قَدْ بايَعَني، وَاَنا آخِذُكُمْ بِالْبَيْعَةِ لَهُ عَنِ اللَّهِ عَزَّوَجَلَّ. اِنَّ الَّذينَ يُبايِعُونَكَ اِنَّما يُبايِعُونَ اللَّهَ، يَدُاللَّهِ فَوْقَ اَيْديهِمْ. فَمَنْ نَكَثَ فَاِنَّما يَنْكُثُ عَلي نَفْسِهِ، وَمَنْ اَوْفي بِما عاهَدَ عَلَيْهُ اللَّهَ فَسَيُؤْتيهِ اَجْراً عَظيماً . | Indeed, I have pledged allegiance to Allah, and Ali has pledged allegiance to me, and I am taking you in allegiance to him on behalf of Allah, the Exalted. 'Indeed, those who pledge allegiance to you are only pledging allegiance to Allah; the hand of Allah is above their hands. So whoever breaks his pledge, he only breaks it to the detriment of himself, and whoever fulfills what he has promised Allah, He will give him a great reward.' |

مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، اِنَّ الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ مِنْ شَعائِرِ اللَّهِ، فَمَنْ حَجَّ الْبَيْتَ اَوِ اعْتَمَرَ فَلا جُناحَ عَلَيْهِ اَنْ يَطَّوَّفَ بِهِما الآية. مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، حِجُّوا الْبَيْتَ، فَما وَرَدَهُ اَهْلُ بَيْتٍ اِلاَّ اسْتَغْنَوْا وَاُبْشِرُوا، وَلا تَخَلَّفُوا عَنْهُ اِلاَّ بَتَرُوا وَافْتَقَرُوا. مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، ما وَقَفَ بِالْمَوْقِفِ مُؤْمِنٌ اِلاَّ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ ما سَلَفَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ اِلي وَقْتِهِ ذلِكَ، فَاِذَا انْقَضَتْ حَجَّتُهُ اسْتَأْنَفَ عَمَلَهُ. مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، الْحُجَّاجُ مُعانُونَ وَنَفَقاتُهُمْ مُخَلَّفَةٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَاللَّهُ لا يُضيعُ اَجْرَ الْمُحْسِنينَ. مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، حِجُّوا الْبَيْتَ بِكَمالِ الدّينِ وَالتَّفَقُّهِ، وَلاتَنْصَرِفُوا عَنِ الْمَشاهِدِ اِلاَّ بِتَوْبَةٍ وَاِقْلاعٍ. | O people, indeed Hajj and Umrah are among the signs of Allah. 'So whoever performs Hajj to the House or performs Umrah, there is no blame upon him for circling them.' O people, perform Hajj to the House, for no family has approached it except that they became self-sufficient and were given good tidings. Do not neglect it, for if you do, you will be cut off and become poor. O people, no believer stands at the standing place except that Allah forgives him for what has passed of his sins until that moment. When his Hajj is completed, he resumes his deeds. O people, the pilgrims are supported, and their expenses are covered; Allah does not waste the reward of the doers of good. O people, perform Hajj to the House with complete faith and understanding, and do not depart from the sacred sites except with repentance and cessation from sin. |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، اَقيمُوا الصَّلاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكاةَ كَما اَمَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ عَزَّوَجَلَّ، فَإنْ طالَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْأَمَدُ فَقَصَّرْتُمْ اَوْ نَسيتُمْ فَعَلِيٌّ وَلِيُّكُمْ وَمُبَيِّنٌ لَكُمْ. الَّذي نَصَبَهُ اللَّهُ عزَّوَجَلَّ لَكُمْ بَعْدي اَمينَ خَلْقِهِ. اِنَّهُ مِنّي وَاَنَا مِنْهُ، وَهُوَ وَمَنْ تَخْلُفُ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّتي يُخْبِرُونَكُمْ بِما تَسأَلُونَ عَنْهُ وَيُبَيِّنُونَ لَكُمْ ما لا تَعْلَمُونَ. | O people, establish prayer and give zakat as Allah, the Exalted, has commanded you. If a long time passes and you become negligent or forgetful, then Ali is your guardian and will clarify things for you. He whom Allah, the Exalted, has appointed as the trustworthy one among His creation after me. He is from me, and I am from him. He and those who will come after him from my descendants will inform you about what you ask them and will clarify for you what you do not know. |
اَلا اِنَّ الْحَلالَ وَالْحَرامَ اَكْثَرُ مِنْ اَنْ اُحْصِيَهُما وَاُعَرِّفَهُما فَآمُرَ بِالْحَلالِ وَاَنْهِيَ عَنِ الْحَرامِ في مَقامٍ واحِدٍ، فَاُمِرْتُ اَنْ آخُذَ الْبَيْعَةَ مِنْكُمْ وَالصَّفْقَةَ لَكُمْ بِقَبُولِ ما جِئْتُ بِهِ عَنِ اللَّهِ عَزَّوَجَلَّ في عَلِيٍّ اَميرِالْمُؤْمِنينَ وَالْأَوْصِياءِ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ الَّذينَ هُمْ مِنّي وَمِنْهُ اِمامَةً فيهِمْ قائِمَةً، خاتِمُها الْمَهْدِيُّ اِلي يَوْمٍ يَلْقَي اللَّهَ الَّذي يُقَدِّرُ وَيَقْضي. | Indeed, the lawful and the unlawful are too numerous for me to enumerate and define in one sitting. I am commanded to enjoin what is lawful and to prohibit what is unlawful. Therefore, I am commanded to take your allegiance and pledge for accepting what I have brought from Allah, the Exalted, regarding Ali, the Commander of the Faithful, and the successors after him, who are from me and from him, with a continuous Imamate among them, the last of whom is the Mahdi until the Day when he meets Allah, who decrees and decides. |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، وَكُلُّ حَلالٍ دَلَلْتُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ وَكُلُّ حَرامٍ نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْهُ فَإِنّي لَمْاَرْجِعْ عَنْ ذلِكَ وَلَمْ اُبَدِّلْ. اَلا فَاذْكُرُوا ذلِكَ وَاحْفَظُوهُ وَتَواصَوْا بِهِ، وَلا تُبَدِّلُوهُ وَلا تُغَيِّرُوهُ. اَلا وَاِنّي اُجَدِّدُ الْقَوْلَ: اَلا فَاَقيمُوا الصَّلاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكاةَ وَاْمُرُوا بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَانْهَوْا عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ. | O people, every lawful thing I have guided you to and every unlawful thing I have prohibited you from, I have not retracted nor have I altered. So, remember this and preserve it, and advise one another regarding it; do not change it or alter it. Indeed, I renew my statement: Establish prayer, give zakat, enjoin what is good, and forbid what is wrong. |
اَلا وَاِنَّ رَأْسَ الْأَمْرِ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ اَنْ تَنْتَهُوا اِلي قَوْلي وَتُبَلِّغُوهُ مَنْ لَمْ يَحْضُرْ وَتَأْمُرُوهُ بِقَبُولِهِ عَنّي وَتَنْهَوْهُ عَنْ مُخالَفَتِهِ، فإنَّهُ اَمْرٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ عَزَّوَجَلَّ وَمِنّي. وَلا اَمْرَ بِمَعْرُوفٍ وَلا نَهْيَ عَنْ مُنْكَرٍ اِلاَّ مَعَ اِمامٍ مَعْصُومٍ. | Indeed, the essence of enjoining what is good is that you adhere to my words, convey them to those who are not present, and command them to accept it on my behalf and to refrain from opposing it, for it is a command from Allah, the Exalted, and from me. There is no enjoining of good or forbidding of wrong except with an infallible Imam." |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، الْقُرْآنُ يُعَرِّفُكُمْ اَنَّ الْأَئِمَّةَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ وُلْدُهُ، وَعَرَّفْتُكُمْ إنَّهُمْ مِنّي وَمِنْهُ، حَيْثُ يَقُولُ اللَّهُ في كِتابِهِ: وَجَعَلَها كَلِمَةً باقِيَةً في عَقِبِهِ ، وقُلْتُ: لَنْ تَضِلُّوا ما اِنْ تَمَسَّكْتُمْ بِهِما . | O people, the Quran informs you that the Imams after me are his children, and I have made it clear to you that they are from me and from him, as Allah says in His Book: 'And He made it a lasting word among his descendants.' And I said: 'You will not go astray as long as you hold fast to both of them.' |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، التَّقْوي، التَّقْوي، وَاحْذَرُوا السَّاعَةَ كَما قالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّوَجَلَّ: اِنَّ زَلْزَلَةَ السَّاعَةِ شَيْءٌ عَظيمٌ . اُذْكُرُوا الْمَماتَ وَالْمَعادَ وَالْحِسابَ وَالْمَوازينَ وَالْمُحاسَبَةَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَبِّ الْعالَمينَ وَالثَّوابَ وَالْعِقابَ. فَمَنْ جاءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ اُثيبَ عَلَيْها وَمَنْ جاءَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ فَلَيْسَ لَهُ فِي الْجِنانِ نَصيبٌ. | O people, piety, piety! And beware of the Hour, as Allah, the Exalted, has said: 'Indeed, the quake of the Hour is a tremendous thing.' Remember death, resurrection, accountability, scales, and the reckoning before the Lord of the worlds, as well as the rewards and punishments. Whoever comes with a good deed will be rewarded for it, and whoever comes with an evil deed will have no share in Paradise. |

فَقُولُوا بِأَجْمَعِكُمْ: «إنَّا سامِعُونَ مُطيعُونَ راضُونَ مُنْقادُونَ لِما بَلَّغْتَ عَنْ رَبِّنا وَرَبِّكَ في اَمْرِ اِمامِنا عَلِيٍّ اَميرِالْمُؤْمِنينَ وَمَنْ وُلِدَتْ مِنْ صُلْبِهِ مِنَ الْأَئِمَّةِ. | Therefore, say together: 'Indeed, we are hearing, obedient, pleased, and submissive to what you have conveyed from our Lord and your Lord regarding our Imam Ali, the Commander of the Faithful, and those who are born from his loins among the Imams.' |
نُبايِعُكَ عَلي ذلِكَ بِقُلُوبِنا وَاَنْفُسِنا وَاَلْسِنَتِنا وَاَيْدينا. عَلي ذلِكَ نَحْيي وَعَلَيْهِ نَمُوتُ وَعَلَيْهِ نُبْعَثُ. وَلا نُغَيِّرُ وَلا نُبَدِّلُ، وَلا نَشُكُّ وَلا نَجْحَدُ وَلا نَرْتابُ، وَلا نَرْجِعُ عَنِ الْعَهْدِ وَلانَنْقُضُ الْميثاقَ. | We pledge allegiance to you regarding this with our hearts, our souls, our tongues, and our hands. We will live by this, die by it, and be resurrected by it. We will neither change nor alter, nor will we doubt, deny, or have any suspicion. We will not revert from the covenant, nor will we break the pact. |
وَعَظْتَنا بِوَعْظِ اللَّهِ في عَلِيٍّ اَميرِالْمُؤْمِنينَ وَالْأَئِمَّةِ الَّذينَ ذَكَرْتَ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِكَ مِنْ وُلْدِهِ بَعْدَهُ، الْحَسَنِ وَالْحُسَيْنِ وَمَنْ نَصَبَهُ اللَّهُ بَعْدَهُما. | And you have advised us with the advice of Allah regarding Ali, the Commander of the Faithful, and the Imams whom you mentioned from your descendants after him, Hasan and Husayn, and whom Allah has appointed after them. |
فَالْعَهْدُ وَالْميثاقُ لَهُمْ مَأْخُوذٌ مِنَّا، مِنْ قُلُوبِنا وَاَنْفُسِنا وَاَلْسِنَتِنا وَضَمايِرِنا وَاَيْدينا. مَنْ اَدْرَكَها بِيَدِهِ وَاِلاَّ فَقَدْ اَقَرَّ بِلِسانِهِ، وَلا نَبْتَغي بِذلِكَ بَدَلاً وَلا يَرَي اللَّهُ مِنْ اَنْفُسِنا حِوَلاً. نَحْنُ نُؤَدّي ذلِكَ عَنْكَ الدَّاني وَالْقاصي مِنْ اَوْلادِنا وَاَهالينا، وَنُشْهِدُ اللَّهَ بِذلِكَ وَكَفي بِاللَّهِ شَهيداً وَاَنْتَ عَلَيْنا بِهِ شَهيدٌ». | So the covenant and the pact are taken for them, from our hearts, our souls, our tongues, our consciences, and our hands. Whoever grasps it with his hand has affirmed it with his tongue; and we do not seek any substitute for it, nor does Allah see any deviation from us. We fulfill this on behalf of you for both the near and the far among our children and families, and we bear witness to Allah regarding this, and sufficient is Allah as a witness, and you are a witness over us. |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، ما تَقُولُونَ؟ فَاِنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ كُلَّ صَوْتٍ وَخافِيَةَ كُلِّ نَفْسٍ، فَمَنِ اهْتَدي فَلِنَفْسِهِ وَمَنْ ضَلَّ فَاِنَّما يَضِلُّ عَلَيْها ، وَمَنْ بايَعَ فَاِنَّما يُبايِعُ اللَّهَ، يَدُ اللَّهِ فَوْقَ اَيْديهِمْ . | O people, what do you say? Indeed, Allah knows every voice and the secrets of every soul. 'So whoever is guided is only guided for himself, and whoever goes astray only goes astray to its detriment.' And whoever pledges allegiance, indeed, he is pledging allegiance to Allah; 'the hand of Allah is above their hands.' |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، فَبايِعُوا اللَّهَ وَبايِعُوني وَبايِعُوا عَلِيّاً اميرَالْمُؤْمِنينَ وَالْحَسَنَ وَالْحُسَيْنَ وَالْأَئِمَّةَ مِنْهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيا وَالاْخِرَةِ كَلِمَةً باقِيَةً؛ يُهْلِكُ اللَّهُ مَنْ غَدَرَ وَيَرْحَمُ مَنْ وَفي. فَمَنْ نَكَثَ فَاِنَّما يَنْكُثُ عَلي نَفْسِهِ وَمَنْ اَوْفي بِما عاهَدَ عَلَيْهُ اللَّهَ فَسَيُؤْتيهِ اَجْراً عَظيماً . | O people, pledge allegiance to Allah, and pledge allegiance to me, and pledge allegiance to Ali, the Commander of the Faithful, and to Hasan and Husayn, and to the Imams from them in this world and the Hereafter as a lasting word; Allah will destroy whoever betrays and will have mercy on whoever fulfills. 'So whoever breaks his pledge, he only breaks it to the detriment of himself, and whoever fulfills what he has promised Allah, He will give him a great reward.' |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، قُولُوا الَّذي قُلْتُ لَكُمْ وَسَلِّمُوا عَلي عَلِيٍّ بِاِمْرَةِ الْمُؤْمِنينَ، وَقُولُوا: سَمِعْنا وَاَطَعْنا غُفْرانَكَ رَبَّنا وَاِلَيْكَ الْمَصيرُ ، وَقُولُوا: الْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ الَّذي هَدانا لِهذا وَما كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِيَ لَوْلا اَنْ هَدانَا اللَّهُ الآية. | O people, say what I have told you and greet Ali as the Commander of the Faithful, and say: 'We have heard and we obey; Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the final destination,' and say: 'Praise be to Allah who has guided us to this, and we would not have been guided had it not been for Allah's guidance.' |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، اِنَّ فَضائِلَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ اَبيطالِبٍ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَزَّوَجَلَّ- وَقَدْ اَنْزَلَها فِي الْقُرْآنِ- أَكْثَرُ مِنْ اَنْ اُحْصِيَها في مَقامٍ واحِدٍ، فَمَنْ اَنْبَأَكُمْ بِها وَعَرَفَها فَصَدِّقُوهُ. | O people, indeed the virtues of Ali ibn Abi Talib with Allah, the Exalted— which have been revealed in the Quran— are too numerous for me to enumerate in one sitting. So whoever informs you of them and recognizes them, believe him. |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، مَنْ يُطِعِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَعَلِيّاً وَالْأَئِمَّةَ الَّذينَ ذَكَرْتُهُمْ فَقَدْ فازَ فَوْزاً عَظيماً. | O people, whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger and Ali, along with the Imams whom I have mentioned, has indeed achieved a great victory. |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، السَّابِقُونَ اِلي مُبايَعَتِهِ وَمُوالاتِهِ وَالتَّسْليمِ عَلَيْهِ بِإِمْرَةِ الْمُؤْمِنينَ اُولئِكَ هُمُ الْفائِزُونَ في جَنَّاتِ النَّعيمِ. | O people, those who are the first to pledge allegiance to him, show loyalty to him, and greet him as the Commander of the Faithful—those are the ones who will be successful in the Gardens of Bliss." |
مَعاشِرَ النَّاسِ، قُولُوا ما يَرْضَي اللَّهُ بِهِ عَنْكُمْ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ، فَإِنْ تَكْفُرُوا اَنْتُمْ وَمَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ جَميعاً فَلَنْ يَضُرَّ اللَّهَ شَيْئاً. اَللّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُؤْمِنينَ بِما اَدَّيْتُ وَاَمَرْتُ وَاغْضِبْ عَلَي الْجاحِدينَ الْكافِرينَ، وَالْحَمْدُ للَّهِ رَبِّ الْعالَمينَ | O people, say what pleases Allah regarding you in your speech, for if you all disbelieve, you and all those on the earth, it will not harm Allah in anything. O Allah, forgive the believers for what I have conveyed and commanded, and be angry with the denying disbelievers. And praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. |
